Safety Guarding for Horizontal Boring Mills
Designed for use on boring mills, this boring mill safety guard comes with a large, see-through shield to protect the operator from chips and coolant.
There are still quite a few of these horizontal boring machines used around the world today. Not only are they used for boring, but they can also be used to mill surfaces off very large parts that don’t fit on a standard milling machine. There are a lot of old boring machines still being used in industry today that do not have safety guards. Ferndale Safety designed these guards to be able to take on the rough environment around a boring machine.

Installation & Precautions
The post is very heavy and should be installed by two people. There may be additional brackets or plates necessary to bolt the post properly to the head. Any bracket material is not included.
Be aware of the post height and possible obstructions or collisions with the post. The post moves up and down with the head and it is possible that the post will be higher than the machine. Verify that no gantry cranes, light fixtures, ceiling or beams will collide with the safety guard post.
