Safety Guarding for Horizontal Boring Mills
Designed for boring mills, this safety guard has a large, see-through shield to protect the operator from chips and coolant.
There are still quite a few of these horizontal boring machines today. They are used for boring and can also mill surfaces off huge parts that don’t fit on a standard milling machine. Many old boring machines still used in industry today do not have safety guards. Ferndale Safety designed these guards to take on the harsh environment around a boring machine.

Sizing Information
There are three standard sizes available. Choose the screen width and height that will suit your needs. A good rule of thumb is to measure the height of the head and choose a screen height closest to that dimension.

Installation & Precautions
This product is heavy and should be installed by two people. Additional brackets or plates may be necessary to bolt the post properly to the head.
Be aware of the overall height and possible obstructions or collisions with the post. The post moves up and down with the head, which may be higher than the machine. Verify that no gantry cranes, light fixtures, ceilings, or beams will collide with the safety guard post.
