There are two types of screens available for milling guards; the half-moon screen and the flat screen types. To size the screen, you need to calculate the width of the milling head near the spindle and add about 80mm (3”) to that measure. This will give you approximately the diameter of the screen (A), in many case you will have to round up to the nearest screen size in the following table.

Why Have Safety Interlocking?
These safety guards are made to European standards where it is mandatory to have electrical interlocking between the safety guard and the machine. What good is a safety guard that isn’t being used? We understand that a lot of people feel that these safety guards just get in the way but why sacrifice your safety over convenience? The safety interlocks are there to remind you or the operator that the guard needs to be in place. Stay safe everyone, and connect that electrical interlock – you may thank yourself for it later.
